Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to generate a list of roms that meet certain criteria. Something like all vertical games that have more than one button or use a trackball. Things like that. Need something pretty freeform.
Also, I'm looking for a way to set specific options for the output of the list above, much like what MARRT does. Only, instead of removing the roms, I may want to set them to vertical vs horizontal. Basically, modifying the mame setup files for a batch of games instead of one at a time.
If I can at least get a query tool that will output to a file, I can write the rest. Just figured I would ask before re-inventing the wheel.
Thx, Darren

Darren, As far as something that generates a list of ROM Files based on a criteria, haven't seen it. Most of the time you just have to go through them by hand. However, there are people who have made some lists such as the catlist from www.mameworld.net/catlist that contain such categories. One the second question talking about orientation, AdvanceMAME will allow you to set video options based on orientation. This support is kind of limited, however, and mainly just allows you to do video options, not any other options. Well, I hope I at least gave a little insite to your problem. I have some other ideas but might need to talk to you in person to see if it's what you really want to do.
