Now and then we see a game or something on TV that takes you back to your childhood memories. That happened to me today. I was watching a show and in the background was an arcade game I haven't seen in a long time. Tempest; now here was a game that was very basic in concept but provided hours of non-stop entertainment. That got me to thinking what game past or present is the most addictive to play and why? For me I think it has to be Samurai Showdown from NeoGeo. I would spend hours and paychecks on this game just waiting on the next challenger. I would even go home and think about strategies. Sad ain't it... What was yours and why?

I am with you on the tempest. I picked up mine just a couple months ago and am hooked again. Some others I can play for hours are gyruss, missle command, golen tee, and capcom bowling just to name a few. One reason I built the MAME is because I can play them all

For me, I would have to say that my most addictive game was Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. When I was younger, I dropped more tokens in that game than any other game I can think of. Some of my favorite games are Soul Calibur, The Tekken Series, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and X-Men. If we're talking about classic games, however, my favorites are Galaga & Frogger. Also, have you seen the new Hummer commercial that starts out with Asteroids? If not click www.hummer.com/hummerjsp/world/tv/index.jsp

I saw the commercial yesterday and was impressed. I also enjoy the Moonwalker game and that to this day is my favorite on Tim;s Mame. I'll be by this week to check out the latest work on it.

Hey, I think the game, (Console, sorry ) has to be The Legend of Zelda. Before it ever came out, I was sucked into every commercial, read every article, and played it longer than any other game I can think of, Possibly with the exception of the great Arcade game Super Mario Bros. For ancient games, I would have to go with SpyHunter, I used to have to stay on the fishing peir with my father all day, and loved playing that game!

One of the most addictive games I have ever played was Bust A Move by Neo Geo. Then Soul Calibur 2 follows a close second.

Hey Adam,
Welcome. It's good to see some new posts on the board.
I'm glad that there is at least one other Soul Calibur fan out there besides myself. ;D Also, Bust-A-Move is a HIGHLY addictive game and I can recall putting quarters in it more than a couple of times.
Thanks for Posting.
